More and more, there is a lot of data around. What kind of techniques
do we have to make good use of this data?
- Computers are good at doing repetitive actions on large amounts of
data.
- Consequently, computers can be good at processing this data.
-
Data Mining is about finding useful knowledge from large data bases. Using
smart data base management, and artificial intelligence techniques,
unexpected and unanticipated knowledge can be found in databases
-
I got some information for this from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Data_mining
- Today, I'm going to lead you through some issues in data mining
and text mining. It really just is a cursory introduction.
I'll try to leave some links in the talk if you want to find
more information on your own.
